<image:title>Philosophy - My name is Rosie Holloway.</image:title>
<image:caption>I founded Listen in 2016, shortly after earning my music degree, and the philosophy behind it has grown steadily with the studio. As a child, I participated in all things music—choir, musical theatre, dance, piano—but I never had a voice teacher. My goal is to provide the kind of musical guidance and support that I would have loved as a student. At Listen, we focus on learning a classical vocal technique. Students sing a variety of music (classical, musical theatre, Disney, folk songs, etc.), while establishing a technique that promotes both good vocal health and beautiful singing! I also place a strong emphasis on sightreading, music theory, performance practice, and practice habits, in order to help you become not just a better singer, but a better musician. Most importantly, at Listen, I foster a non-competitive environment. I am happy to work with all students, regardless of their level of knowledge, skill, or experience. We will work together to go from your starting place—whatever that may be—to the highest level of musicianship you can achieve. The goal of Listen is to foster creativity, self-confidence, a strong work ethic, and a love for music: skills that you can carry with you throughout your life, regardless of where your path takes you.</image:caption>

<image:caption>I am a graduate of Ball State University, with degrees in Music Performance (voice) and Speech-Language Pathology. I work full-time as a speech-language pathologist for Muncie Community Schools, and I have been teaching private voice lessons since 2016. I am a regular judge for ISSMA Solo & Ensemble competitions and have served as an assistant music director at Muncie Civic Theater. I am also an active performer myself, most recently appearing as Anya in Muncie Civic’s production of Anastasia. When I am not singing, I enjoy spending time with my husband and my little boy, listening to true crime podcasts, hanging out with my pets, and collecting houseplants!</image:caption>
